Chuck Wendig and Gods. Chuck Wendig and Profanity. Chuck Wendig and Humor. Chuck Wendig and Violence. All things that this man does well, and by well, I mean there are few out there that I read to today that can even approach his level.
This is a story about our world and our gods. But instead of being up in heaven, or hell, or in the history books. They are in your city, living on your block, in your house, and may even be in your head. What could go wrong if the gods we know about, and even those we don’t know about are running around doing whatever they feel like because they are gods? It’s not like we could do anything about it.
But what happens when someone does do something about it? All chaos can break loose and Chuck Wendig does a great job of showing those consequences with his style of gritty humor (you’ll never think of a unicorn the same after this), and hold nothing back characterization as you have an entire cast of gods and humans running amuck in a story that will have you laughing out of your chair and reading until the very end.
I could not recommend this story any more than I do. Easily 4/5 stars.
